Professional Insulation removal is something that we take very seriously. Our technicians have developed a safe and effective procedure for removing soiled insulation from your ceiling or crawlspaces. Using commercial insulation removal equipment we are able to remove all of the insulation in your ceiling WITHOUT any of it travelling through the living space of the home.
This ensures that none of the dust, debris or animal faeces in the ceiling makes its way down into your house. It is the safest and most practical way to remove old insulation from a ceiling.
Why is our Vac N Sack m ethod the best for removal of contaminated dust and old roof insulation? The answer lies in the filtration that we use. We have a four-stage filtration system that is backed by the world’s largest filtration company, Donaldson Torit.
In short, we have the best system on the market. Rugged, strong and designed for heavy work in difficult environments.
The Filtration Process in Detail
The 1st stage of the filtration process is the special sack. Designed to hold 3 cubic metres (which is a whole lot of dust and debris) this sack captures 98% of dust in your ceiling and 99.9% of insulation.
The 2nd stage is the dust shaker cabinet with the unique washable filtration envelope system giving huge filter cleaning ability.
The 3rd stage is the inlet filter tower with .5 micron washable socks and the 4th stage is the HEPA exhaust combined with 15″hg and 450 cfm of raw vacuum power. This system sucks up practically everything you want gone and leaves only clean air behind.
When do you need a Ceiling Vacuum Treatment?
1. Damaged/Contaminated Insulation
Often, loose insulation is removed because it has commenced disintegrating, sparking health and safety concerns. Loose insulation can, as it disintegrates, filter into the living space and cause concerns for those with respiratory or allergy issues. Old insulation such as cellulose fibre (Pump-In Paper) and batts that are in your ceiling cavity can also be a fire risk due to them coming into contact with down lights, exhaust fans and other heat sources in your roof.
Older batts also start to break down and eventually require replacing in order to maintain properly working insulation. An added benefit of removing old insulation is that you get rid of all the dust, rats nests and other debris that has been allowed to accumulate in your ceiling.
Critters that find their way in your roof , a leaky roof and other dangers can severely damage and even contaminate your insulation. A roof full of possum/bat droppings and urine-soaked insulation poses a serious health hazard for you and your family.
In addition, insulation that has been torn to shreds by animals over the years loses its thermal functionality. Since tattered insulation cannot retain heat properly, it is unable to provide the thermal and acoustic benefits it once did and requires replacement.
2. Upgrade Your Insulation
The insulation of today is far superior to the insulation that was sold 15 to 20 years ago. New materials with improved thermal properties are now available to homeowners. In many cases you will realise a dramatic reduction in heating costs simply from upgrading the type of insulation in your roof.
Insulation Removal Process
Removing old insulation from a roof can be a time-consuming and challenging project. If there are animal droppings mixed with the insulation you can expose yourself to several different diseases by disturbing the insulation and then inhaling the particles that become airborne. Proper safety equipment is a must for anyone working with old, contaminated insulation.
Dragging dirty insulation from your roof through the living space of your home is NOT a safe method of insulation removal. Using this method will result in a house full of airborne fiberglass particles and all the other contaminants that were in your roof. We are a professional company that specialize in removing insulation in a safe and effective manner with our Vac N sack system.
Outback Insulation and our Vac N Sack system can remove products such as Synthetic Mineral fibres (fibreglass, glass-wool, mineral wool, rock wool, cellulose fibres, ceramic fibres) formaldehyde, loose paper fill, paper sarking and much more. When Outback Insulation and our Vac N Sack system remove the dust and insulation from homes we are often told by homeowners that they can smell the difference in their homes afterwards.
